Mark Cummings in Gypsy Dreams

As John McVie in Gypsy Dreams, Mark recreates the distinctive bass lines that form the foundation of many of Fleetwood Mac’s best-known songs. His playing works closely with the drums to capture the feel and groove of the Fleetwood Mac rhythm section.
Together with drummer Logan Shrewsbury as Mick Fleetwood, Mark anchors the rhythm section while supporting the vocals, guitars and keyboards that complete Fleetwood Mac’s classic sound.
While John McVie’s playing can often sound deceptively simple, his melodic bass lines and subtle rhythmic choices are an essential part of the band’s music. Mark’s decades of experience as a professional bassist allow him to bring those details to songs throughout the Gypsy Dreams repertoire.
More Than 30 Years on Bass
Mark’s career has taken him from Southern California stages to international touring and recording projects. His ability to perform comfortably across multiple genres has given him a broad musical vocabulary and an understanding of how the bass can shape a song without overpowering it.
That experience is particularly suited to the music of Fleetwood Mac, where the rhythm section provides a powerful but often understated foundation. Mark brings that combination of precision, feel and experience to every Gypsy Dreams performance.
About John McVie
John McVie joined Fleetwood Mac shortly after the band’s formation in 1967, following his time with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. Together with drummer Mick Fleetwood, he created the rhythm-section partnership that has remained at the foundation of Fleetwood Mac throughout the band’s history.
Known for his melodic, economical bass playing, McVie helped shape the sound of Fleetwood Mac across decades of recordings. His surname, combined with Mick Fleetwood’s, also provided the inspiration for the name Fleetwood Mac.
